April Color Recipe – Plants and vases
Polymer clay is an excellent material for creating unique and beautiful pieces, and mixing different colors can create unlimited possibilities for creativity.
Inspired by the lush green of the plants and the contrast with the colors of the vases, we can create an elegant and modern palette of greens and yellows with a Japandi influence using Fimo Soft 16 Sunflower, Fimo Effect 08 Pearl, Fimo Effect 903 Starry Sky, Fimo Soft 33 Brilliant Blue, Fimo Soft 70 Sahara, and Fimo Effect 803 Granite.
To get started, we’ll need to gather our materials, including the six polymer putty colors mentioned above, a clean work surface, a sharp blade, and a rolling pin. We can start by mixing Fimo Soft 16 Sunflower with Fimo Effect 08 Pearl in a 1:6 ratio to create a soft pastel yellow that will serve as the base color for our palette.
We can then mix Fimo Effect 903 Starry Sky with Fimo Soft 16 Sunflower in a 3:2 ratio to create a deep blue-green tone that will add depth and richness to our palette. We can then mix Fimo Soft 16 Sunflower with Fimo Soft 33 Brilliant Blue and Fimo Effect 08 Pearl in a ratio of 1:1:2 to create a more open green color.
After mixing our colors, we can start creating our pieces. The possibilities are endless, but we can start with simple, modern jewelry like earrings. We can use pastel yellow as a base color for our earrings and add details in teal and open green tones for a natural and elegant look.
