Color Mixing Tips

  • Prepare your work surface – Use a smooth, clean, non-absorbent surface.
  • Small quantities – Start with small amounts of clay when making mixtures, allowing for more precise adjustments.
  • Mixing technique:
    • Knead the colors separately before combining them
    • Cut the colors into thin slices and stack them alternately
    • Twist and fold repeatedly until you achieve a uniform color
    • For smoother blends, continue kneading for a longer time
  • Color samples – Create small samples of your mixtures and label them for future reference.
